Are you are rocking an eclectic, contemporary or European aesthetic, but can’t find outdoor furniture that compliments your interior? You have come to the right place. If your cubicle mate doesn’t mind, let’s set the mood. Go ahead. Hit play:
Now, let me introduce you to Vondom.
Based in Valencia, Spain, the company enlists some of Europe’s top designers and architects in its effort to add high style to patios, porches and pools around the world. A manufacturing process called rotational molding allows Vondom to realize their designers’ creative visions in a seamless 100% recyclable plastic that holds up outdoors, just like you want it to.
One of their 2013 introductions recently caught my eye with its sexy shape and color. This is Wing:
I loved Vondom’s collections at IMM, but couldn’t photograph much of them because there was always somebody lounging on their furniture. I take that as a good sign.
Designed by the team at A–cero, Wing looks fabulous in red too, paired here with LED illuminated tables:
I’m going to need one of those cocktails…and a trip to Spain.
Long and low, Vela is the perfect complement to clean-lined architecture:
Designed by architect Ramón Esteve, Vela comes with its own inner glow:
I don’t know about you, but I’m experiencing a little floor-to-ceiling glass envy. The preacher in Footloose had it all wrong. Dancing doesn’t lead to sin, but design sure does. For me, anyway.
I mean, really. What’s not to lust love about Karim Rashid’s Surf?
If your style is a little more colorful, try frolicking in a little pink Surf:
When darkness falls, just flip a switch and your ho-hum deck becomes a hot spot:
It’s not a brand new introduction, but if your style is a little less linear, soften up the edges with lots of Pillow:
Hey! Eyes on the furniture, people!!!
Pillow is also illuminated. It glows brighter than a bikini line at a topless beach in St. Tropez.
Agatha, a new collaboration with prolific fashion and product designer Agatha Ruiz de la Prada is perfect for the young and the young at heart:
Hearts and flowers and a munchkin. Too cute!
I could list the color and style options, and give you technical info on the UV protection–to prevent fading–inherent to the furniture’s materials, but you’re still thinking about that bikini ^up there,^ so let’s get back to some sexy sophistication. Ramón Esteve delivers it big time, with the 2013 introduction of the technology driven Faz Daybed:
That’s a hot seat!
You know how I know you want it? There was always a bottom in the one at IMM.
Once available only on the other side of the world, there is good news to report. Vondom recently opened a showroom in the US, which means your designer can source it for you without a long lead time.
Seriously. Summer. Is. Right. Around. The. Corner. Why wait?
