I’m so glad he did. In my quest not to be late for my tour, I ended up being early, which is amazing because I got a little turned around on the way there. (In my defense, Montecito should be renamed Hedgeville. Nearly every house is fronted by towering hedges, so it can be hard to get your bearings. Landmarks are few and far between!)
Joanie graciously met me at the door. When she realized my appearance was a bit premature, she put me in the trusted hands of the PR team from Penelope Francis. There was a vendor appreciation luncheon in progress, so I took my informational collateral and my camera outside. Doing research in the shade of the 250+ year old oaks turned out to be a very pleasant way to the pass time:
Update, 10.13.2012: Before Remodeling
Releasing a design project is much like giving birth. You hope you created a beautiful baby and that everyone else will love it as much as you do. I don’t think she needed to worry at all.
The show house, with proceeds benefitting the Junior League of Santa Barbara, is open every Thursday-Sunday from 10:00 to 2:00, until October 7, 2012. Advance tickets are $35.00 and are available through the Junior League and SBDHG. Tickets are also available on site for $40.00.
Talking about it is the next best thing to being there!
