Twice a year, Brizo takes 19 designers and bloggers on a wild ride during New York Fashion Week. Last September, I was fortunate to be invited to be a part of the first group of designers to see the finished product in a high fashion meets industrial design collaboration between Jason Wu and Brizo.
Odin was the result:
A few months ago, I received another amazeballs invitation in the mail:
I was already headed to the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show in Chicago and planned to meet up with a few of my fellow Blogger 19 and #IntDesignerChat friends. The invitation to reconnect with Jason and the incredible team from Brizo was too good to pass up.
The get together was to celebrate the expansion of Odin into a full bathroom suite. The music playing in my head right now? MC Hammer’s You Can’t Touch This.

Oh, oh, oh, oh…Oh, oh. Oh, oh…
The Dream 2.0 party was packed:

The evening was a blast. There are a few photos of our group with Jason floating around somewhere, but I haven’t seen them yet. I hope I had my eyes open this time!
What I did get to see at KBIS the next day was that as a collection, Odin is continuing to evolve. Several prototypes of the new products and finishes were on display in Brizo’s ginormous booth.
In addition to the original single hole faucet, it is now available in a widespread:
And although originally conceived in only matte black, it may soon be available in brushed nickel:
I think the diversity that the line is developing is a positive step. It opens Odin up to a wider range of customers. Brizo is a brand that solicits designers opinions, and it’s obvious that they listen very well!
As I type, a new group of 19 is in New York for Brizo Fashion Week. They will get to see Jason’s runway show tomorrow and then have a cocktail Q and A with him afterwards. Follow the hashtag #BrizoFW on Twitter and Instagram to see who is on the trip and what they are up to. Welcome to the group, guys. The more the merrier!
I’ve pulled together a quick look at a few images from Jason’s Fall 2012 show. It’s always fun to see what goes on before, during and after the show. Months of work are whittled down to 12 minutes on a runway, and hours are spent on perfecting the details of the collection before letting it fly.
Considering how much time and effort the team at Jason Wu spent pulling the show together, narrowing down Jayme Thornton’s photos was quite a challenge, but I gave it my best shot. Make it HD and fullscreen, so you can see all of the pretty!
Hit the link below to catch the livestream of the Spring/Summer collection for 2013. It starts tomorrow, September 7, promptly at 1:00 PM EST. Don’t be late!
Update: One of my fellow Brizo Fashion Week designers, Linda Merrill has one of the photos. It’s in a great post here!
