Who doesn’t love a hot Italian? Picture one that cooks and cleans. Can you do it? Let me help you with the visuals:
I like my appliances steely. Masterful, even. The market was crowded, but I fell in love with Bertazzoni at this year’s Kitchen and Bath Industry Show. Maybe it was the accents, like updated color options and controls, I’m not sure. It could’ve been the sleek new attire or the old school charm. Either way, I’m harboring a mad crush. This isn’t a game for amateurs. It is for the serious Professional:
Too young and colorful for you? I get it. Bertazzoni was born in 1882 as a wood stove company. They entered the US market in 2005. If you like your Italians with more seasoning, how about a little something with some Heritage to it?
Now that is red and hot!Like I said earlier, the field is crowded, but the good news for consumers is that these Italian studs are available at a much better price point than their extravagant French counterpart. True, a chef’s dream may be custom built and handmade, but it’s also the price of a car, maybe two. Living well doesn’t require that kind of outlay. What attracted me to Bertazzoni’s booth this year is the niche they’ve carved in the built-in market with its new line of drop-in cooktops and wall ovens. I’ll share my take on the cooktop options, and let you check out the full line when we’re done here.At KBIS 2012, heir to the family throne, Nicola Bertazzoni walked me through the Design process for this hot newbie:
Nicola was passionate when describing the technology, and he was right. That’s a very attractive duel fuel cooktop. It’s available in six different configurations using a combination of gas burners, induction cooking and a griddle. When planning a kitchen reno, it can be stressful making a choice when there are so many options available. With this hottie, you can use three at the same time, or commit to one steady companion. This dance is Cook’s Choice.Even hunkier is the company’s commitment to sustainable design. I don’t know about you, but I like long term relationships with responsible people.Nicola also showed me the latest features on the companion appliances. So I don’t get out of breath, let me just say two words: Oven Porn. Go see them for yourself. Be sure to check out the toy section I mean the electronics while your there. The company is running a Holy Cannoli promotion through August 15, 2012. It’s worth a wink and a wolf whistle if you’re in the market for new appliances.
