I am totally ADD. I have the papers to prove it. I tend to hyper-focus on what ever task is at hand, and I have to block out everything else until it’s complete. If I don’t, it never gets done. Take this post, for example. I’m supposed to be getting dressed to run a few errands, but I started writing this yesterday and I know if I don’t get the words out now they may not come out at all. Ever. So here goes:
I spent a few beautiful days in May inside the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center (ADAC), enjoying all the new product introductions, presentations, and libations during Veranda’s 25th Anniversary celebration. After a fantastic panel discussion, I attended a very crowded reception at one of my favorite showrooms, Ainsworth Noah. They rolled out some of the big guns for this one, with Suzanne Kasler, Campion Platt and Steven Gambrel heading the list.
Needing a break from the hustle and bustle, I took a stroll around the showroom to do a little scouting. I’m a big fan of a company named Ironies. They’ve been around for a while and I tend to feel a sense of calm around their products. They are clean lined, with beautiful details. As I reached their display area, I felt myself relax a little.
I took a breather in this fabulous vignette:
