I believe in love at first sight, at least when it comes to design, and I’ve fallen head over heels for Schumacher’s Beaded Damask wallpaper!
I have a long narrow closet, and a discussion about organizing it with the challenges it presents led to a daydream diversion about an honest-to-goodness dressing room. You know the kind I’m talking about. It is a room you can actually dress in, not just a place to hang your clothes. I’m thinking outside the dressing circle!
My dream dressing room isn’t as big as Oprah’s, and definitely not as opulent as Mariah’s, but it does have room for me to change, a huge mirror so I never have to ask if my butt makes my pants look small, a sparkling chandelier and a place to sit and daydream a little more. It would also have an island with lots of drawers, for planning and packing, a couple of pull-out hanging bars to allow me to compare outfits, and a window to flood it with natural light.
Schumacher’s wallpaper is the perfect backdrop for this imagined room. Since it’s very textural, and in a neutral shade, it can be styled in a multitude of ways, with an infinite array of accent colors. This is what appeals to me today:
|WALLPAPER, FABRICS, MIRROR AND CHAIR: SCHUMACHER
CHANDELIER: SAVOY HOUSE VIA LIGHTING UNIVERSE
SIDE TABLE: BARBARA BARRY FOR BAKER
Now, I’m dreaming about the wardrobe I’ll need to go in it!
