So, what? I’m a plumbing star!
Well, not really, but I am in the first video. So is a pretty rocking toilet. The buzz around the Kohler booth at KBIS was as loud as a bunch of new grandmothers hanging outside a hospital nursery window.
I told you about this baby before, but my photos didn’t do it any justice. You will be seeing a lot more of Numi in the future, but I think this was my 1.5 seconds of fame.
Numi is gorgeous, sexy and cool.
This is a beautiful commercial, but I don’t think people in glass houses should…. Never mind. Carry on.
The new for me? I had Kohler’s lovely, reasonably priced, high efficiency Cavata commode installed in my basement bath reno today. It has a very powerful flush, while using very little water. (It was so impressive that I actually got a little giddy!)
It isn’t as innovative as Numi is with it’s fancy backlighting, toasty foot warmer, and Mp3 capabilities, but it is still pretty fantastic. For now, I’ll just keep a night-light burning, wear socks when I’m cold, and hum a little tune. (I’m thinking a R.E.M. mash-up with The Science Guy will suffice!)
If the plumbing fixtures in your house are of a certain age — mine are 30, then they are probably wasting your money and they are most definitely wasting water. I don’t know about you, but my appreciation and gratitude for fresh water increases every day. We can’t afford to waste it.
Look into the high efficiency and dual flush toilets that are available today. They are a very affordable, very smart buy. Think of it this way: After trimming back on waste, your water bill will be positively svelte!
As for my 1.5 seconds of fame? You missed me, you missed me. Now you have to… ENOUGH! I’ve got to stop this “Plumbing Star” attitude. I’m just grateful the paparrazi didn’t shoot me from behind.
