|THE BELLE MEADE MANSION AT THE PLANTATION|
I recently paid a long overdue visit to the beautiful antebellum Belle Meade Plantation, the ancestral home of William Giles Harding in Nashville, Tennessee.
A world renowned thoroughbred stud farm, it earned fame as the home of Bonnie Scotland, the first American bred horse to win the English Derby.

They don’t allow photographs to be taken inside the mansion, so catch a glimpse of the interiors here.

|FOR THE PLANTATION’S NEW WINERY|
Prior to my visit, i wasn’t the worlds biggest fan of Muscadine wine, But the Plantation surprised and delighted me with their versions.

The winery’s other selections are very good, as well. I just think the Muscadine is so good that it deserves a big ole southern shout out!

Out of everything I saw and everything I learned during my visit, I came away holding a special place in my heart for Ms. Susanna Carter.

Ms. Carter was born outside Nashville, around 1812, to an interracial couple. Her father was of English descent, and her mother was half Creek Indian and half African American.

She believed that freedom had good points as well bad, and even though she had a husband and children, the family she took such good care of became her own.
